What a peculiar feeling it is to see the year written down in date format.

How it floods your mind with images & thoughts of what that year was to you, and to the world, is also how it slingshots you that exact, indeterminate moment of writing. What was I doing on September 14, 2011?

Such a mundane act can become something of such importance.

I digress…

🗣️ STOLIMPICO !!!

It’s official, STOLIMPICO szn has begun. The first drop, a long-awaited swangin’ ambient lo-fi track with a phat synth bassline, waxxx, came on August 15, followed shortly by the smooth-cruisin’ jazz melodies and onomatopoeiac percussion of roundtable bounce on August 22.

The next track is due up on August 29. Tap in!

Bo Rice… EXPOSED

https://borice.exposed has seen a few development updates, albeit small ones this month. I’ve been playing with Midjourney to create animated images in the style of Windows 95. Kinda fun, check it out.

🪐 Khadija Jahmila

Khadija is a visual artist from Baltimore who I’m pretty sure I talked her ear off when we first met at an open mic/showcase event (lol). She was crammed in the dark back corner of this tiny venue with her whole table setup and an aura of massively chill vibes.

I respect that - that’s the hustle. We talk about “The Hustle”, but that’s really it y’all.

Invasion of the Death Caps: Saturn’s Revenge:

It wasn’t too soon afterwards I was buying her work, hanging it on my forest green studio wall next to a way-too-small-cause-I’m-cheap Tame Impala poster. We’ve also collaborated on album art for a yet-to-be-released-but-I-promise-it’s-coming-sometime-soon summertime beattape.

Since then, she’s had her own galleries, workshops, events & a whole-azz baby! 👶 Shoutout to Khadija, a real one.

💺 The Lounge

🗣️ Been thinking a lot lately about having something to say.

Meaning, something you feel so passionate and sure about that you seek out every chance to find a way to say it.

I used to feel this more than I do now, strangely. Some of y’all know it - stoic philosophy, sustainability, rapping as a form of therapeutics, urban design, so on. These days, it’s less so.

🤔 So, I’m curious - what have y’all been feeling passionate about lately? What’s something that you’ve been itching to talk about or feel like isn’t talked about enough?
